      Introduction

      If you already have targets set outside Emitwise—such as a corporate pledge or an internal reduction plan—you can record them here. This lets you consolidate all targets in one place and share them with stakeholders.

      Step-by-Step Guide

      1. Go to Decarbonization Information

        • In Profile, select the Decarbonization Information section.
        • Locate the Targets tile.

      2. Click “Set a New Target”

        • Click Set a New Target to open the side panel labeled Set a Target.

      3. Input Your Existing Target Details

        • Baseline Year: Must be one of the years for which you’ve provided emissions data.
        • Target Year: The future year your existing plan aims to achieve.
        • Target Ambition: 1.5°C, Well Below 2°C, or Other (Not SBTi-Aligned).
        • Method Type: Absolute and Sector Specific, or Supplier Engagement.

      4. Select Scope Categories

        • Indicate which Scope 1, 2, and 3 categories that your existing target covers.
        • If you have not previously entered emissions data for certain categories into your Profile, these will be automatically disabled.

      5. Enter Reduction Percentage

        • Match it to the commitment in your external target documentation.

      6. Submit & Confirm

        • Click Submit to save.

      Common Issues/Tips

      • Pitfall: If your existing target’s baseline year predates your available data in Emitwise, you can’t add it yet. Emitwise is working to enable older baselines in future updates.
