This guide shows how to export your emissions dataset—be it for a specific time frame, scope, or facility.
Introduction
Sometimes you need raw data for advanced analysis, internal reporting, or to share with stakeholders outside Emitwise. This guide shows how to export your emissions dataset—be it for a specific time frame, scope, or facility.
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Open the Download Menu
- Go to Analyse > Emissions Overview (or your current dashboard).
- Locate the Download button in the toolbar (the downward arrow icon).
-
Apply Filters First (Optional)
- If you only want data for certain suppliers or facilities, set those filters before clicking Download.
- The export will match whatever view or filters are active on your dashboard.
-
Specify Units and Scope
- The modal lets you choose between kg CO₂e and ton CO₂e.
- Confirm which unit best fits your reporting needs.
-
Click “Download”
- Emitwise begins generating your CSV file.
- Larger datasets might take a moment—wait for the prompt that it’s ready to save or automatically starts downloading.

Common Issues/Tips
- Tip: If your dataset is huge, consider breaking it down by smaller time frames or scopes to keep files manageable.
- Pitfall: Exporting without applying filters might give you a very large file, making it harder to find relevant insights.
Conclusion
You’ve successfully downloaded the underlying carbon data from your Emitwise dashboard. Now you can analyze or share it however you choose—whether that’s building custom reports or integrating it into another system.
