How can I ensure the accuracy and completeness of my submitted data?

Utilise built-in features and cross-check with source documents

To ensure accuracy and completeness:

  1. Use the built-in error checking features (red highlighting and error messages).
  2. Review the summary sheets to get an overview of your entered data.
  3. Cross-check your entries with your source documents (e.g., energy bills, production records, emissions monitoring reports).
  4. Ensure all mandatory fields (yellow) are filled.
  5. Verify that the reporting period is consistent across all data points.
  6. Check that all relevant production processes and precursors are included.
  7. Pay special attention to the allocation of emissions and energy flows between different processes.
  8. Review any assumptions or estimations made and document them for transparency.
  9. Ensure the fuel balance and GHG emissions balance in the Emissions & Energy sheet are consistent with your detailed process data.
  10. If possible, have a colleague review your entries for an additional check.

Remember, the template is designed to help you provide comprehensive and accurate data. Utilise its features fully to ensure your submission meets CBAM requirements and reflects your actual production and emissions accurately.
