How to Access and Understand Your Emitwise Offboarding Data Pack

As part of the wind-down of the Emitwise platform, we’ve prepared a complete offboarding data pack for every customer. This ensures you retain full access to your emissions data, supporting documentation, and historical records.

How to Access Your Data Pack

Your offboarding pack is now ready for download.

To access it:

  1. Log in to the Emitwise portal.

  2. Click the menu in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Select Company Settings.

  4. Scroll to the Export Data section.

The download may take a few minutes depending on the amount of data associated with your account.

Important:

Please ensure you download your pack before 16 July 2025, when access to the platform will be permanently disabled.

What’s Included

Each offboarding pack contains your organization’s full dataset, structured in a clear folder hierarchy. Even if specific files or folders appear empty, they’ve been included to show the types of data we track.

The pack reflects a snapshot of your data as of the date shown in your Company Settings. Any changes or uploads made after that date will not be included.

Folder Structure Overview

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find in your download:

Root Directory

  • README.md – Summary of contents

  • users.csv – All registered users

  • locations.csv – All locations

  • initiatives.csv – Carbon reduction initiatives

  • epc.csv – Emitwise Product Catalogue entries

/activities/

  • files.csv – All uploaded files with metadata

  • Subfolders for each reporting period and data collection method (e.g. Q1-2023-Standard/, Q1-2023-Activity-Specific/)

/emissions/

Emissions data by methodology:

  • Market-based (with/without supplier EFs)

  • Location-based (with/without supplier EFs)

Covers all tracked activities (e.g. electricity, travel, waste, purchased goods) and categorizes by GHG Protocol scope (S1, S2, S3).

/suppliers/

  • suppliers.csv

  • supplier_contacts.csv

/PCFs/

  • Your PCFs: pcfs.csv, calculation files

  • Supplier PCFs: supplier_pcfs.csv, supplier_ccfs.csv

/Reports/

  • reports.csv, report PDFs

  • targets.csv, initiatives.csv

Key Notes

  • Snapshot date: Only data up to the export date is included.

  • Empty folders: Present by design – they reflect available categories, not missing data.

  • Multiple files: Large datasets may be split across files for ease of use.

  • Consistent units: All metrics use standard units (e.g. kWh, tCO₂e, litres).

Methodologies & Categorization

Our emissions calculations use the most accurate method available per activity:

  • Quantity-based

  • Spend-based

  • Distance-based

  • Modelled

Scope and category mapping follows the GHG Protocol, covering Scope 1, Scope 2 (MB and LB), and Scope 3 (C1–C15).
