Resolving data quality issues for CCFs

This guide explains how to resolve data quality issues impacting your Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF).

Introduction

Emitwise flags potential data quality issues in your Corporate Carbon Footprint when information seems incomplete or inconsistent. You’ll see:

  • A banner at the top of the Profile page.
  • Wording on the Company Emission Intensity tile indicating Data Quality Issues.
  • A “Resolve Data Quality Issues” button that opens a side panel with specific instructions.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the Resolve Panel

    • Click on the Resolve Data Quality Issues link. A side panel appears detailing what’s wrong.

  2. Review the Listed Issues

    • The panel might say you need to update revenue, fill in missing categories, or correct a mismatch in your Scope 3 data.
    • In this case, the system explains that the proportion of Scope 3 is too low, and that the total emissions intensity is significantly above industry benchmark. The system then asks the user to please check if revenues and emissions are submitted correctly, and to submit a methodology report to help verify that information.

  1. Make Corrections

    • Edit your data accordingly. In this case, correct the Revenue and pre-calculated emissions data that was initially shared. You may need to attach new documentation or revise numerical inputs.
