      Should I include VAT in the spend figures I submit to Emitwise?

      When submitting your spend file to Emitwise during the data collection process, VAT figures should not be included in your submission.

      As it is a tax, VAT is excluded during the calculation of your company's emissions. That is because taxes are not indicative of an emissions-inducing activity. 

      If you are curious about other types of data that should be excluded from your spend figures, you can explore other recommended exclusions.
