Increase your Scope 3 accuracy with supplier-specific EFs.
Emissions intensity is a key metric that measures a company’s carbon emissions relative to its revenue. This allows buyers to compare suppliers across industries and regions, but also to use in their emissions calculations instead of the industry EFs.
Emitwise's Approach: Emitwise calculates emissions intensity using the emissions data suppliers or have available publicly online, in combination with their revenue information for the reporting period. This allows for a consistent comparison across all suppliers in the program, providing valuable insights to both you and your customers.
While there are various ways to measure emissions intensity, Emitwise uses emissions per revenue as the standard metric. This approach:
- Ensures comparability across different industries and geographies.
- Helps identify opportunities for emissions reductions based on business size and activity.
- Provides a simple, scalable method for tracking decarbonization progress over time.
What's new: We now calculate the emissions intensity of suppliers without you having to engage them! If they have data publicly available, we'll use it to create an emission factor and we will review its data quality before using it in your calculations.
Those emission factors are visible in your Suppliers Overview page in Analyse.
