What Are the Requirements for My Target to Be SBTi-Aligned?

Meeting the Criteria for Science-Based Targets

To be considered SBTi-aligned, your target must meet specific reduction thresholds:

• Near-term targets require a minimum 4.2% annual reduction for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and a 2.6% reduction for Scope 3.
• Long-term targets must aim to achieve net-zero by 2050 or sooner, with a 90% reduction for Scope 3 emissions.

Your target must cover at least 95% of Scope 1 and 2 emissions. If Scope 3 accounts for over 40% of your total emissions, the target should cover at least 67% of Scope 3 emissions.
