What Data Does Emitwise Share with Customers?

A guide to understanding what information is shared with requesting customers and what remains confidential.

Data That Is Shared:

  1. Emissions Data: Customers receive information on your Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions, which provides insight into your company’s carbon footprint.
  2. Emissions Intensity: The calculated emissions intensity (emissions per unit of revenue) is shared, allowing customers to benchmark your performance against industry standards.
  3. Product Carbon Footprints (PCF): If relevant, the product-specific carbon footprint data, including emission intensity per product, is shared. This helps customers assess the environmental impact of the products they are purchasing.
  4. Decarbonization Targets: Customers may see high-level information about your decarbonization targets, such as your baseline year, target year, and the percentage reduction goals for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  5. Supplier Engagement: If applicable, customers are informed about supplier engagement efforts, such as the percentage of Scope 3 emissions being addressed through your engagement programs.

Data That Is NOT Shared:

  1. Revenue Data: While your revenue is used to calculate emissions intensity, the specific revenue figures are not shared with customers unless explicitly allowed.
  2. Detailed Financial Information: Any other sensitive financial data, including profit margins or investment details, is not shared.
  3. Specifics of Internal Operations: Detailed operational data, such as energy usage breakdowns or internal processes related to emissions reduction, are not disclosed beyond the overall emissions categories.
  4. Employee Personal Information: Names, contact details, and personal information of the users managing emissions reporting within your company are not shared.
  5. Proprietary Product Data: Any sensitive details regarding product designs or manufacturing processes are kept confidential. Only high-level emissions data for products is shared.

This ensures that while the requesting customer receives the necessary sustainability information, your sensitive business and personal data remain protected.
