Why Does Emitwise Ask for Revenue Data?

How Revenue Data Helps in Calculating Emissions

Emitwise requests your revenue data to calculate a supplier-specific emission factor, which helps your customer estimate the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the goods and services you provide.

This emission factor is calculated by dividing your total company emissions by your total annual revenue for the reporting period. It represents the kilograms of GHG emissions per dollar your customer spends on your products or services. By using this emission factor, your customer can more accurately estimate the emissions resulting from their procurement activities.

Key Points:

  • Revenue data is not shared with your customer: While we use your revenue to calculate the emission factor, the revenue itself remains confidential and is never shared with your customer. If your revenue is public, it may be found by your customer.
  • Confidentiality assurance: If you are still unsure, you can request a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) by contacting our support team at support@emitwise.com for further peace of mind.
